Droylsden's older streets around Market Street, Manchester Road and Fairfield are Victorian brick terraces, many with the original tuck-pointed fronts long since cement-slurried over. The Fairfield Moravian settlement is a conservation area and worth treating with care; the rest of the town is standard cement work done to a good standard.
